BCI Inner Speech Study

Every day, we inch closer to brain-computer interfaces being a popular technology!

New brain-computer interface ‘reads’ your innermost thoughts and translates them into text
Scientists decoded inner speech from brain signals, enabling password-activated BCIs for faster, easier communication.

With a 74% accuracy score at identifying "imagined speech" patterns (i.e. people's inner monologue, if I understand this correctly), it seems obvious that mind-reading tech is here to stay. The question is (and will be) around invasive vs. non-invasive capabilities and whether non-invasive BCIs can achieve compelling results, in my opinion. If non-invasive BCI accuracies improve, I wonder about security—could a bad actor read someone's mind from the other room? I'll explore this in another post. I hope I'm horribly misguided.

Imagining musical notes as a popular method for creating music doesn't seem too far off!
